The ELG1635-S and ELD1635-S Lamb Wave EMATs are high-performance, non-contact probes designed for ultrasonic Lamb wave generation and detection. Built for demanding environments, these EMATs enable efficient, long-range wave propagation, making them ideal for thickness gauging, corrosion monitoring, and defect inspection in pipes, tanks, and metallic plates. Using Lorentz force-based excitation, they eliminate the need for couplants, ensuring reliable performance in challenging industrial settings. Compatible with Sonemat’s TBPR1000, HPP2000, and SAA1000 systems, these EMATs are a versatile solution for industries requiring precision and operational safety.

Key Advantages and Features:

    • Efficient Lamb Wave Propagation: Designed for optimal wave-guiding along thin metallic plates, allowing precise, long-range inspections at approximately 188 kHz with a standard 16 mm wavelength.
    • Non-Contact Operation: Operates without couplants, leveraging Lorentz forces to generate Lamb waves, making it ideal for rough or hard-to-access surfaces.
    • Industrial Durability: Built with a metal wear face and a Neodymium Iron Boride magnet, the ELG1635-S and ELD1635-S withstand challenging environments and provide consistent performance.
    • Broad Compatibility: Seamlessly integrates with Sonemat’s TBPR1000, HPP2000, and SAA1000 systems, supporting pitch-catch and pulse-echo configurations for versatile industrial applications.

Applications:

    • Thickness and corrosion monitoring in metallic pipelines and tank walls
    • Long-range defect detection in structural metals, including welds
    • Non-contact inspection in confined or difficult-to-reach areas
    • Aerospace, oil and gas, and energy sectors requiring preventive maintenance
